WATCH: 14 men face federal indictment in west Baltimore drug operation investigation

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland is scheduled to announce Friday that 14 Baltimore men are facing federal indictment as part of an investigation into an alleged open-air drug operation in west Baltimore.

The announcement is set for July 31 at 11 a.m. at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, located in downtown Baltimore.

U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes is expected to be joined by Jonathan Earle, Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); Jesse Halvorsen, Deputy State’s Attorney for Baltimore City; and Kevin A. Jones, Deputy Commissioner of the Baltimore Police Department.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the indictments stem from a federal investigation into a group allegedly operating an open-air drug market in West Baltimore.
