Police helped rescue two horses from inadequate living conditions in west Baltimore on Tuesday.
Officers were sent to the 1700 block of Ashburton Street to assist Animal Control personnel with removing the horses around 2 p.m., according to authorities.

The horses were being kept inside a garage-like structure behind the houses of Ashburton Street.

Baltimore Police Department spokesperson Det. Niki Fennoy said Animal Control personnel seized the horses because they did not have adequate housing or resources.
