Over 20k without power after severe storms Monday evening

Nearly 21,700 BGE customers are without power Monday night after severe storms impacted central Maryland.

The outages span across the region, with Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and Howard County being the hardest hit.

Storms damaged electric equipment throughout BGE’s service area. Widespread storm damage includes downed wires, broken poles, downed trees, limbs and other debris.

As of 10 p.m. on Monday, crews have restored 12,800 customers.

BGE estimates that 80% of customers impacted will have power restored by 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and the majority of remaining customers by 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Crews are working around the clock to restore power for customers.
