HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — A Gambrills man was charged with manslaughter after a fight in Howard County led to the death of another man, according to police.
Officials said 32-year-old Jaylin James McConnaughey was arrested on August 28 and was initially charged with assault after striking Tevin Jarrett Sesker, 33, of Lanham.
The two individuals were reported to have known each other, and police said they got into a verbal fight in the 8800 block of Greenwood Place.
During the verbal altercation, officials reported that McConnaughey struck Sesker, resulting in Sesker falling to the ground and hitting his head.

Sesker was then taken to Shock Trauma, where he was listed in critical condition.
After McConnaughey’s arrest, police reported that he posted a $10,000 bond and was released.
On September 1, authorities were notified that Sesker died from his injuries, prompting detectives to add manslaughter to McConnaughey’s charges.
Police took McConnaughey back into custody on September 2, and he is currently being held at the Howard County Detention Center on no bond.
