213 suspected heroin gel caps, 80 grams of crack seized in Brooklyn Park traffic stop

A traffic stop in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday afternoon led to an arrest of a Baltimore man and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, the Anne Arundel County Police Department announced Thursday.

On June 17, around 2:30 p.m., officers did a traffic stop on a Chevy Impala in the area of Ritchie Highway and Townsend Avenue for a traffic violation.

Consent was granted to search the vehicle during the stop.

As a result, officers seized 113 red and white gel caps of suspected heroin, 100 off-white gel caps of suspected heroin, about 80 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and U.S. currency.

The driver, identified as 62-year-old Derle Daron Allen of Baltimore, was arrested and charged accordingly.
