Aberdeen, Md. (WBFF) — An Aberdeen woman previously charged in a child neglect case earlier this year is facing another child neglect charge after police said they found her two young daughters home alone in an apartment under unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers responded around 11:32 a.m. on July 16 to an apartment in the unit block of Northeast Road after receiving a report that two young children had been left unattended.
When officers arrived, they found two girls, ages 3 and 5, alone inside the apartment.
Police said officers observed unsafe and unsanitary living conditions, and the children appeared lethargic. The girls were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Police said the children’s mother, identified as 23-year-old Kahliyah Gooding, was later located at her place of employment.
Investigators allege Gooding admitted she had been leaving the children home alone while she worked because she could not afford daycare.
Gooding was arrested and charged with child neglect.
According to police, this is the second child neglect investigation involving Gooding this year. She was previously charged in a similar case on May 6, 2026.
Child Protective Services took custody of the children, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The Aberdeen Police Department reminded parents and caregivers that leaving young children unattended can place them at significant risk and may result in criminal charges.
