Annapolis officials warn drivers of Inner West Street road closures for spring events

The City of Annapolis is warning drivers of upcoming road closures along Inner West Street for spring events.

On Sunday, April 19, “Kick Gas! EV Showcase” is coming to town. West Street between Church Circle and Calvert Street will be closed to parking and traffic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a presentation of electric vehicles. The Annapolis Electric Vehicle Association organized the free event, which will be open to the public. Click here to learn more.

On Sunday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., West Street will be closed between Church Circle and Calvert Street for the First Sunday Arts Festival. The event is a “staple of the Annapolis summer,” the city said via press release. First Sunday events are organized by the Inner West Street Association.

Monthly dates after May 3 are:

  • June 7
  • July 5
  • August 2
  • September 6
  • October 4
  • November 1

From 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, West Street between Church Circle and Calvert Street will be closed for Taste of Spring. The event is organized by the Inner West Street Association and is a ticketed event.

Beginning on May 20, West Street between Church Circle and Calvert Street will be closed each Wednesday (and some Saturday) evenings through Oct. 14 for Dinner Under Stars. The event will run from 4 to 11 p.m. and is organized by the Inner West Street Association.

  • Parking: Closest parking is Gott’s Garage (25 Calvert Street). Whitmore Garage (25 Clay Street) offers free parking on Sundays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be no parking permitted on West Street between Church Circle and Calvert Street during these events.
  • Detours: Signage will redirect traffic around the inner West Street corridor.
