At least 1 injured after car crashed into pole near Washington Monument

WASHINGTON (7News) — A person is in the hospital after a crash near the Washington Monument on Tuesday morning, D.C. Fire and EMS said.

It happened at 15th St and Constitution Ave NW. Officials said that one vehicle hit a pole.

One person was also trapped and then rescued from a vehicle before being taken to the hospital, though it is unclear which vehicle they were in.

All northbound and southbound lanes at the intersection of 14th and Constitution Avenue NW are closed. Drivers should look for alternate routes.
