On Monday, November 11th, a 16-year-old Baltimore suspect with a history of previous arrests was taken into custody following a violent carjacking incident.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:50 pm in the 6700 block of Park Heights Avenue. Officers responded to reports of a carjacking and found an 83-year-old female victim suffering from injuries to her forearms and knees.
The victim told investigators that she was retrieving items from her vehicle when two male suspects approached her. One of the suspects physically removed her from the vehicle and threw her to the ground before fleeing the scene in her car.
A description of the stolen vehicle was broadcast, and around 4:30 pm, officers located the car in the 2800 block of Rosalind Avenue. The 16-year-old suspect, along with two unidentified passengers, exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. After a brief pursuit, the 16-year-old was apprehended and arrested.
According to authorities, the 16-year-old suspect has a history of previous arrests for assault, larceny, stolen auto, and robbery in several police districts across Baltimore. He was transported to the Juvenile Justice Center and charged as a juvenile for robbery in this latest incident.
The 83-year-old victim was treated for her injuries by emergency medical personnel at the scene.
