
POTOMAC, Md. (7News) — The body of a swimmer who had gone missing on Sunday evening in the Potomac River has been recovered, according to officials.
The missing swimmer was identified during the search by first responders as 20-year-old Nazir Bell.

“Throughout the operation, family members remained nearby, holding vigil and awaiting word from responders,” said Pete Piringer with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. “Our thoughts are with the family.”
Crews had been looking for Bell, pausing searches when it became too dark on Sunday and Monday, ever since he went missing from a group that was in the water near Billy Goat Trail A and Sandy Landing.
