BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — One of the drivers involved in a deadly 2023 crash that killed six construction workers on the Baltimore Beltway was sentenced to prison time for violating his probation.
Melachi Brown pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license, and admitted to violating his probation.
A judge sentenced Brown to six years in prison followed with three years of supervised probation for the violation.
The judge said that Brown poses an “extreme risk” to public safety.
Brown had previously served prison time, and was released following a plea deal in 2024.
On March 22, 2023, six construction workers were killed in a crash on the west side of the Baltimore Beltway.
Two of the victims were a father and son, investigators said.
The crash happened in a construction zone between Windsor Mill and Dogwood roads.

An National Transportation Safety Board report said that speed was the main factor in the deadly crash, with both Brown and Lisa Lea being found to have been driving faster than 120 MPH at the time of the crash.
