U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced earlier this week a campaign to get illegal migrant truckers off the road.

“WATCH: WE JUST LAUNCHED A NEW CAMPAIGN TO GET ILLEGAL ALIEN TRUCKERS OFF OUR ROADS AND VETERANS ON THEM,” Duffy wrote on X. “It’s called FREEDOM HAULERS.”

Attached to the post is a video asking veterans if they have experience driving while in the military.

“You drove the toughest roads on earth defending our freedoms,” a voiceover said in the video while showing footage of veterans driving tanks. “Why not get paid to drive on ours?”

Duffy said that freedom hauler truck drivers can make up to six figures, get training costs covered and medical benefits.

In his position as Secretary of Transportation, Duffy has made it his mission to get illegal migrant truck drivers off the road.

He announced in April that he was withholding $73 million from New York for not revoking illegally issued non-domiciled commercial learner’s permits and driver’s licenses.

In November of 2025, Duffy announced that the revoking of 17,000 California commercial driver’s licenses that were given to foreign drivers after it was revealed expiration dates were passed when the drivers were legally allowed to be in the U.S.
