Dundalk player wins $500K scratch-off as Mega Millions, Powerball jackpot climb

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A Maryland Lottery player who bought a scratch-off ticket in Dundalk won $500,000 last week, leading a week of big payouts across the state as the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots continued to grow.

The top prize came from a Gifts of Green scratch-off ticket sold at the Walmart on North Point Boulevard in Dundalk.

Statewide, the Maryland Lottery paid out more than $30 million in prizes from July 13-19, including 27 winning tickets worth $10,000 or more.

Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to an estimated $707 million annuity ($307.7 million cash) for the Tuesday, July 21 drawing.

A ticket sold at a BP station on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway in Seat Pleasant matched enough numbers to win $30,000, though the prize had not been claimed as of July 20.

The Powerball jackpot also continued to rise, reaching an estimated $544 million annuity ($241.6 million cash) for the July 20 drawing.

Three Powerball tickets sold in Annapolis, Greenbelt and North East each won $50,000. All three prizes remained unclaimed as of July 20.

Other notable wins during the week included:

• A $99,751 FAST PLAY Cash Combination progressive jackpot ticket sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Waldorf.
• Two $50,000 Bonus Match 5 tickets sold in Dundalk and Waldorf.
• Two $25,000 Keno tickets sold in Bethesda and Fort Washington.
• Four $50,000 Pick 5 tickets sold at the same 7-Eleven in Rockville during the July 16 drawing.
• Several Racetrax prizes ranging from more than $12,500 to nearly $16,700.
