CARROLL COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — A detached garage caught fire Friday afternoon in Carroll County, causing an estimated $100,000 in damage, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The fire was reported at 12:14 p.m. on June 19 at 6515 Runkles Road in Mount Airy.
The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire with about 30 firefighters, the fire marshal’s office said.
The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes with no injuries.

Officials said the fire started inside the structure and was discovered by the owner.

The preliminary cause was ruled accidental. Investigators said combustible materials were ignited by a propane torch that was being used to remove unwanted ground vegetation.
