BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — A grand jury indicted a man wanted for the April 2024 murder of his ex-girlfriend, Baltimore County Police announced on Tuesday.
26-year-old Amir Johnson was captured after being on the run for two years and is now formally charged for the murder of Shakeia Allen.
According to online court records, Johnson was indicted on Monday.
In April 2026, the U.S. Marshals announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information on Johnson’s location.

The fatal shooting took place in the parking lot of Allen’s apartment building in Nottingham on April 21, 2024.
A neighbor captured the incident on their cell phone and the video went viral online and sparked #JusticeforShakeia.
Baltimore County Police later identified the shooter as Johnson, who was learned to be Shakeia’s former boyfriend.
Court records show Johnson’s trial in the case was scheduled for April 29, eight days after Shakeia’s murder.
Johnson never showed in court.
In Aug. 2023 the couple filed civil domestic violence complaints against one another.
Records show a judge granted temporary protective orders, but the case was later dismissed because both parties failed to appear in court.
Six months later, in Feb. 2024 Johnson was charged with misdemeanor assault.
