MARYLAND (WBFF) — A lightning strike from severe storms caused a barn to catch fire in Western Maryland, officials announced.
Firefighters responded to the structure fire on August 11 at approximately 3:11 a.m., located at 3753 Gorman Road in Garrett County.
Officials reported that lightning struck a tree about 10 feet away from the barn, causing the fire to spread quickly.

Fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control within 10 minutes.
The estimated damage was $30,000.
No injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
