Man arrested after attempted kidnapping of juvenile girl in Bel Air: Police

A 32-year-old man was arrested and faces kidnapping charges after a juvenile female was assaulted in Bel Air last week.

The incident occurred on June 27, when the victim was walking along the sidewalk on Majors Choice Drive and passed a parked vehicle.

As the victim continued to walk, police said the suspect exited the vehicle and approached her from behind, grabbing her near the base of her neck.

The victim immediately screamed and ran from the area towards North Shamrock Road.

The suspect then returned to his vehicle and left the area.

On June 29, after numerous investigation methods, police arrested Christopher Jene Lane of Conowingo, Maryland.

Lane was taken to the Bel Air Police Department, where he was interviewed, processed, and charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted kidnapping of a child under 16, and attempted false imprisonment.

Authorities also located the suspect’s vehicle as part of the case.

Lane remains held without bond.
