BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A mother is facing multiple child neglect charges after her six young children were found alone inside a rental property in Baltimore’s McElderry Park neighborhood on Monday morning.
On Aug. 31, around 11:30 a.m., a Baltimore police officer responded to a call for child neglect at a home in the 2900 block of E. Monument Street.
Once there, the officer found six children alone in what initially appeared to be a vacant home. Investigators later learned that the home was a rental property.
The ages of the children are 9, 7, 6, 5, 3 and 1-years-old.

On Sept. 1, police announced that the mother of the children was taken into custody and is now facing multiple child neglect charges.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
