A former treasurer of a youth athletic organization in Anne Arundel County has been charged after investigators say she stole more than $240,000 from the group over several years.

According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the investigation began on March 21, 2025, when the department’s Financial Crimes Unit looked into allegations of missing funds from the Pasadena Buccaneers Athletic Club.

The volunteer-run organization focuses on mentoring local youth through sports programs and coaching.

Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Kelley Ann Haley of Pasadena, Maryland, who previously served as the club’s treasurer.

The club’s president initially raised concerns, reporting that Haley may have intentionally manipulated financial records to conceal debts and alter expense reports.

Detectives later determined that between January 2019 and March 2025, Haley allegedly used the organization’s debit cards for personal purchases without authorization.

Investigators say they uncovered hundreds of fraudulent transactions and ATM withdrawals, totaling more than $242,500.
