Rabies can be spread by a scratch, bite, or contact with an animal’s saliva out of their eyes, nose, mouth or open cut. Since rabies can be a fatal disease, injections may be needed.

The health department asks anyone who may have had contact with the raccoon to call 410-222-7254.
