A robbery at gunpoint inside Patterson Park has some residents on edge.

The Baltimore Police Department said two teenage boys were robbed inside the park at 11:14 p.m. Tuesday night, and one of them was assaulted.

Police said the suspects are described as two white males and one Black male. Investigators say all three were wearing black ski masks.

Patterson Park is usually filled with runners, dog walkers, and families during the day. But residents FOX45 spoke with say they are more cautious after dark.

“I feel sometimes unsafe walking at night in such big parks,” Lopa Padia said.

Another resident said the robbery was concerning because they often walk their dog around the same time.

“That’s definitely important to hear that news because I walk him maybe 9 or 10,” said Kevin Rucker.

Several residents said lighting is a concern in parts of the park.

“With the lights on the main road, it seems pretty safe, but there are a lot of dark areas where something like that could probably happen,” Rucker said.

Police say citywide robbery detectives are investigating.

No arrests have been announced.
