MARYLAND (WBFF) — The Southern Maryland Sunflower Festival is back for its eighth year, once again held at Serenity Farm in Benedict, Md on Saturday, Sept. 5, to Sunday, Sept. 6.
The annual festival is hosted by Farm Heritage Conservancy and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days with fun for the whole family.
Attendees can expect an abundance of activities, including all-you-can-pick sunflowers, live entertainment, local food vendors, a petting pen, and much more.
The event also welcomes leashed dogs, so don’t leave your furry friends out of all the flower fun.
Though the festival is an annual staple, Farm Heritage Conservancy says new additions will be available for festival-goers to enjoy, including features that highlight regional history to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
And have you been searching for your next photo-op? Those attending also have the option to schedule pre-paid access to professional and amateur photographers who will capture private sessions among the six acres of sunflowers.
Children 7 and under get in free, and tickets can be purchased online for $12 or at the festival for $15. All festival activities are included in the ticket price, except for food, beverages, and artisan vendors.
Proceeds for the two-day event also support the efforts of several local organizations working towards community-first goals, including education and conservation.
