BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Terence Nash, chief of Baltimore’s Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS), resigned more than a month ago, according to a representative of the Mayor’s Office.
According to a statement from the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (MONSE), Nash worked with MONSE Director Stefanie Mavronis on his transition. Mavronis will take over Nash’s duties as the office searches for his replacement.
“During his tenure at MONSE, Terence is responsible for standing up strong interagency partnerships, governance structures, and an internal GVRS team that will carry this work day-to-day moving forward,” according to the statement from MONSE.
Nash was instrumental to the foundation of the GVRS when it launched in 2022 in the Western District, coming aboard as the chief of the GVRS in November 2021 and managing the strategy’s development as well as the development of MONSE as a city organization.
