SUN | Extended happiness: A new martini bar with a 5-hour deal opens in Fells Point

NeatFreak, a 16-seat Fells Point martini bar with a five-hour happy hour special, opened Saturday, giving neighborhood residents a new place to stop in for an afternoon drink, owner Matthew Steinberg said.

The bar at 1822 Fleet St. has only bar seating so Steinberg, its sole employee, can give each customer personalized service and get to know regular patrons, he said.

The noon-to-5 p.m. happy hour offers $10 martinis, giving a bar-heavy neighborhood a new option: a watering hole that opens at noon. The space was previously occupied by Greyhound Tavern, which closed in May.

“I feel like we’re in a time where people could really use a recession-martini-kind-of-thing,” he said. “So, I just wanted to be here for the neighborhood, for people that like to drink during the day.”
