BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The families of multiple construction workers who were killed in the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge two years ago have settled their cases against the owner and operator of the Dali cargo ship, days before a civil trial is scheduled to begin, according to court filings.
Thursday, notices of settlement were filed in the U.S. District Court. The filings state that the families of Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera and Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes have settled their claims with Dali owner Grace Ocean Private Limited and Dali operator Synergy Marine Private Limited. Details of the settlement were not included in the filings.
Daniel Rose, an attorney for Fuentes, said settlements have also been reached with the families of Jose Mynor Lopez, Miguel Luna and Carlos Hernandez, whom he also represents. Notice of those settlements had not been filed in federal court records as of Thursday evening.
Rose said his client, Julio Cervantes Suarez, the lone member of his construction crew to survive the bridge collapse, has also settled with Grace Ocean and Synergy.
