QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, MARYLAND (WBFF) — A possible tornado may have touched down in Queen Anne’s County during Thursday’s severe weather, but the National Weather Service has not yet confirmed that a funnel cloud occurred, NWS officials said.
The weather service is expected to survey the area Friday to determine whether a tornado touched down and, if so, how strong it was.
There was a tornado warning for Queen Anne’s County Thursday, and radars showed what meteorologists call a tornado debris signature, indicating that a possible tornado may have reached the ground near Sudlersville, just south of the community.
The radar evidence provides an indication that a tornado could have touched down, but a weather service survey is needed to confirm it, officials said.
