Two charged after Woodlawn shooting on Gwynn Oak Avenue, police say

Two suspects have been charged with attempted murder in connection with a May shooting in Woodlawn, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

36-year-old Shalae L. Smith and 37-year-old Willard D. Smith allegedly shot a 41-year-old man in Baltimore County.

The relationship between the two suspects is unclear.

On May 16, around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1900 block of Gwynn Oak Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found a 41-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was transported to a nearby hospital and was initially reported to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.

On May 17, authorities provided an update stating that the individual was in stable condition.

Almost three months later, on August 12, detectives assigned to the Baltimore County Police Department Violent Crimes Unit arrested the two suspects.

They both face multiple charges including attempted first-degree murder.

Both remain held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
