BPD said the juveniles ages 14,15, 15 and 17 are each facing a second-degree assault charge.

In another incident, BPD said a 17-year-old girl was arrested after she reportedly spat in an officer’s face after being told to leave the area. Police said she too is charged with second-degree assault.

In addition, one open liquor container violation was issued, according to authorities.

According to BPD, two of the five juveniles have prior arrests.

Specifically, one 15-year-old boy has a previous arrest for stolen auto and the other 15-year-old boy has a prior arrest for assault, BPD said.

Both of those prior incidents occurred earlier this year.

There’s something wrong with the juvenile justice system. There’s something really wrong. So we need help now,” Beth Hawks, a business owner in Fells Point, said.

BPD said checkpoints will continue to be conducted on Fridays and Saturdays in Fells Point and will possibly continue through Labor Day weekend.

FOX45 News also reached out to MONSE surrounding the enforcement of the curfew. A spokesperson acknowledged the request, but has not yet provided an official response.
