Firefighter and another person injured after house fire in Gaithersburg, Md.

A house fire in Gaithersburg, Maryland, left a firefighter and another person injured on Monday, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

Roughly 55 firefighters responded to a neighbor’s call about a house fire in the 18700 block of Calypso Place at around 5:35 p.m. Most of the fire occurred in the rear of the home, officials said.

The fire was knocked down in roughly 10 minutes, and an adult who was inside the home was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s unclear how much damage the fire caused, and officials said an investigation into the cause is ongoing.
