BARCS Animal Shelter takes in over 300 birds

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — BARCS Animal Shelter in south Baltimore took in 322 birds from Baltimore City Animal Control on Wednesday in a case involving birds that were not properly cared for, according to BARCS.

Hundreds of birds needed safety, medical care, and a fresh start. Many arrived in poor condition and required specialized treatment in just a few hours.

The animal shelter staff transformed the training room into a temporary medical triage space to examine and care for each bird.

Veterinary teams from the National Aquarium and The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore joined the BARCS team to help provide care.
