Mayor Scott hosts annual Back to School Rally in downtown Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott hosted the city’s annual Back to School Rally and swearing-in ceremony Saturday at War Memorial Plaza.

Families who attended received backpacks, uniform shirts, school supplies and hygiene products.

Immunizations, vision screenings and health screenings were also available.

During the event on August 22, Mayor Scott swore in the newest youth member of the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners.

Mayor Scott was joined by Dr. Debra Y. Brooks, director of the Mayor’s Office of Children & Family Success; Baltimore City Schools Superintendent Dr. Jermaine Dawson; and School Board Youth Commissioner Taylor Fraling-Taylor.
