Traffic stop in Severn uncovers loaded gun, $2,120 in cash & prescription meds

A man who is prohibited from possessing firearms was found with a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in Severn over the weekend, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

On Aug. 30, around 1:35 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a white 2016 Acura on Pioneer Drive near Reece Road.

The officer seized a loaded .38-caliber Ruger handgun, multiple other people’s prescription medication, and $2,120 cash.

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Joshua Grinston, is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was arrested and charged.
