19-year-old arrested for child neglect after abandoning baby for McDonald’s trip

A 19-year-old is facing child neglect charges after police said she left a 6-month-old baby alone at home while she met friends at a McDonald’s in Bel Air.

On May 18, Aberdeen Police arrested 19-year-old Kira Faust as part of a child neglect investigation.

Police were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Bel Air after receiving calls regarding a 6-month-old baby being left alone in a residence.

Once police arrived at the home, officials said they found the baby living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

Police took temporary custody of the child, while UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center provided baby supplies as Child Protective Services arranged a safe placement.

Faust was charged with child neglect and was later released, police said.
