Carroll County, Md. (WBFF) — A 64-year-old man has died, and a 77-year-old woman was injured after a house fire in Carroll County early Monday morning, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
Firefighters with the Reese Volunteer Fire Company and mutual aid departments were called to the 1800 block of Old Westminster Pike in Finksburg around 5:23 a.m. on Aug. 10 for a reported house fire.

The man and woman, who were both occupants of the home, were taken to hospitals following the fire.
Officials said that the man was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said. His identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
The woman was taken by ambulance to a Baltimore burn center for treatment of her injuries. Officials did not immediately provide information on her condition.

Deputy State Fire Marshals determined the fire started in the kitchen area. Investigators said they have found no signs of criminal activity, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Authorities were unable to determine whether the home was equipped with smoke alarms.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are assisting with the investigation.
The man’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Baltimore.
