BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Drivers in Baltimore are paying more at the pump this week, with the average price of regular gasoline climbing to $4.00 per gallon, according to new data from GasBuddy.
Gas prices in Baltimore increased 13.5 cents per gallon over the past week, based on a survey of 663 gas stations across the city.
Prices are now 22.3 cents higher than a month ago and 90.6 cents higher than this time last year.

The national average also rose 13 cents over the past week to $3.95 per gallon, putting it within striking distance of the $4 mark. Meanwhile, the national average price of diesel fell 22.3 cents from last week to $5.07 per gallon.
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas station in Baltimore was selling regular gas for $3.75 per gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive was charging $4.97 — a difference of $1.22 per gallon.
Statewide, prices ranged from a low of $3.65 per gallon to a high of $5.59 per gallon.
“Average gasoline and diesel prices rose in nearly every state for the second straight week, with the national average price of gasoline likely to reach $4 per gallon within the next 48 hours and diesel already back above $5 per gallon nationally,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, via press release. “While the ongoing U.S.-Iran situation continues to weigh on markets, the story is increasingly less about crude oil and more about global refining capacity — the Strait of Hormuz remains closed while continued Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries further squeeze an already strained supply picture. With WTI crude approaching $85 per barrel in Sunday night trading, price-cycling markets are likely to see another jolt higher in the coming days, and motorists should brace for a rougher stretch ahead.”
