Baltimore man sentenced to over eight years for drug trafficking, firearm crimes

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A Baltimore man was sentenced Wednesday to drug trafficking and firearm crimes in connection with a local drug trafficking investigation, according to the U.S Attorney’s Office.

Davon Taylor, 35, was sentenced to eight years plus one month, followed by five years of supervised release for possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm in connection with drug trafficking.

Officials also reported that Taylor acknowledged his offense violated the terms of his federal supervised release.

On April 9, 2025, law enforcement agents monitored a large parking lot in northwest Baltimore, known as “the panyard,” using surveillance cameras.

Agents saw Taylor arrive at the location and engage in drug transactions before taking an object out of his waistband.

Taylor then placed the object into a pizza box on top of a recycling bin, according to court documents.

Authorities arrested Taylor and recovered a handgun loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition, which had been reported stolen in May 2022.

During a search of the area, agents discovered a bag containing several plastic bags filled with multiple vials and jugs of fentanyl, cocaine, and cocaine base.

Agents also found a digital scale with white residue and $1,549 in cash, officials reported.
