MILLERSVILLE, Md. (WBFF) — A late-night traffic stop in Millersville led to the arrest of a Catonsville man after officers said they found suspected drugs and an unserialized gun in his vehicle.
According to police, on April 13, at about 11:20 p.m., officers stopped a Honda Accord for a registration violation near Old Mill Road and Veterans Highway.
After additional investigation, officers requested a Controlled Dangerous Substance K9 to the scene.
Police said a search of the vehicle was conducted after the K9 gave a positive alert. As the driver exited the vehicle, police said he fled on foot but was taken into custody nearby.

Officers reported recovering 40.91 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, five pills of suspected Adderall, 1 pound and 14.95 ounces of suspected marijuana, and an unserialized P80 9mm handgun loaded with 16 rounds, along with an additional empty 30-round extended magazine.
Police identified the suspect as Jayden Derrell Smith, a 20-year-old man from Catonsville.
