Daughter, girlfriend arrested in Ohio after 67-year-old mom killed in Silver Spring

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A Maryland woman and her girlfriend are now locked up in Ohio, facing charges in the death of her 67-year-old mother in Silver Spring.

Vanessa Wahanganisa Tjongarero-Henderson, 29, and Samantha Raebel, 36, were arrested on Wednesday in Genoa, Ohio.

Montgomery County police have been searching for the pair since May 27. Officers were called to the Charter House in the 1300 block of Fenwick Lane for a welfare check on May 26.

When officers arrived, they found Hilde Henderson, Tjongarero-Henderson’s mother, dead. Investigators believe she was beaten to death on May 22.

Both women face a charge of first-degree murder. They are now awaiting extradition back to Maryland.
