MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A woman was killed after a hit-and-run driver struck her in Silver Spring, Maryland, on Friday afternoon.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Fire (MCPD), officers and emergency crews from Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS) were called about 1:14 p.m. on June 19 to the 10500 block of Colesville Road following reports of a pedestrian struck.
Police said preliminary information found that an adult female pedestrian was struck and was in critical condition.

Shortly after their initial report, MCPD confirmed the woman later died from her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved reportedly left the scene. There is no word on the description of the suspect at this time.
Drivers were told to find another route as authorities investigate the crash.
