CLEVELAND (WBFF) — Five people from Maryland were arrested in Cleveland, Ohio, after planning to take part in an illegal street takeover involving dirt bikes, ATVS, and other unauthorized vehicles.
According to the Cleveland Police Department, on Saturday, August 8, officers identified and intervened with suspected organizers of the event near Canal Road and Robert Lockwood Jr. Avenue.
Police said they stopped four vehicles containing 12 people.
Four drivers were arrested for their alleged participation in a suspected street takeover and issued citations for repeat violations.
Authorities said that ten of the twelve people in those vehicles were from Maryland, including the Baltimore area.
During those stops, police recovered three guns, including one equipped with an extended magazine.
Police also said they seized drone equipment, a camera, and a laptop. All four of the vehicles involved were towed.

On Sunday, August 9, Cleveland Police said they observed a black pickup truck traveling on the wrong side of a roadway and blocking intersections while an occupant of the vehicle was recording the activity.
A driver and passenger were both cited for violations, and the vehicle was towed.
In a separate incident, police attempted to stop another vehicle that fled from officers and were able to track it down and arrest the occupants. That vehicle was also towed.
Finally, police located a discarded rental van in a parking lot at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
A short time later, authorities said the person believed to have rented the van attempted to make a false police report. That person was arrested for making false reports.
Emmanuel Haarden, 26, of Baltimore, was arrested during Sunday’s enforcement in Cleveland, but it’s unclear in what incident he was arrested.
