GAITHERSBURG, Md. (7News) — Five people were injured Thursday morning after a crash involving a school bus in Gaithersburg, according to Montgomery County police and fire officials.
Crews were dispatched around 7:18 a.m. to the intersection of Firstfield Road and Clopper Road. The school bus was not carrying any students since school is out for the summer.
Police said the bus driver was conducting a training session with a student driver at the time, but the cause of the crash is still being investigated.

The crash involved at least two other passenger cars. One of the cars went off the road and crashed into the woods. The driver got trapped inside, but firefighters pulled them out.
A total of five people were taken to area hospitals, but police said all of the injuries are minor.

Photos from the scene show significant damage to two cars, while the school bus appeared to have minor front-end damage.
